Resumen / Descripción: The lives of captives and slaves were closely entangled with objects that made similar trajectories between the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, giving meaning to human experiences and shedding light on their encounters and exchanges. While many of the historical and fictional accounts that recount these experiences can tell us a lot about the people, many of whom were taken captive, these written sources can also be read to offer clues about the circulation of material culture in the early modern Mediterranean world. Las vidas de los cautivos y los esclavos estaban estrechamente ligada a los objetos, que tuvieron trayectorias similares entre las dos orillas del Mediterráneo, explicando las experiencias humanas y arrojando luz sobre sus encuentros e intercambios. Muchas narraciones de la época que hablan de esos encuentros, tanto históricas como de ficción, pueden decirnos mucho de las personas que estuvieron en cautiverio. Además, estas narraciones también nos ofrecen pistas sobre la circulación de objetos y materiales en el Mediterráneo de la Edad Moderna.
